AAHABC YOUTH

AAHABCY (All Arabians Horse Association of BC Youth) has grown and developed over the past  years.  It all began with an idea from Jenna and Linder Bevan at a Directors’ Meeting, “Why don’t we start a Youth Club?”  Jenna became our first President and I was a founding member! We have held elections, attended monthly meetings and worked very hard to help the Youth feel connected as a group.  We had 30 of our Youth members divided into five teams participating in the AHA Youth Team Tournament. 

Youth Executive elections were held at our December, 2006 meeting with the following results:

Youth Donations

To tie up the holiday season, a cheque for twenty-five dollars of Youth money has been donated to ‘Basics for Babies’ and ‘The Food Bank”.  There was also a $10.00 cash donation collected and submitted to ‘Basics for Babies’.

Four bags of groceries were collected for the Food Bank along with approximately forty “Coats for Kids”.

 Youth Activities

The Youth have drafted a list of charities to which they wish to support for next year.  The list will be presented to the Adult group at the next meeting for ratification.

 The Adult group will be presented with a request that two scholarship awards be created in the amount of two hundred fifty dollars each.  The funds would come from the Youth bank account and the guidelines for administration to be drafted by Kimberly Toye.

In early January, we will post our new meeting dates.  Each year, our Youth numbers have increased. Why? Because it is great to be an AAHABCY member!  Please join us!
